Song Story:
"Brand New Day" di Sting, tanto per citarne due, e in "old and wise like a newborn child" cito ME STESSO!),
una sonora presa per il culo alla presunta stabilità dell'orrendo windows xp (pensate che c'è gente che non sa cosa
sia un Mac! Possibile?) e i miei garruli accordini a dieci dita. Questo sono io quando scrivo per me stesso, gente.
Totalmente senza controllo.
Ok, I have to admit that I really went a bit too far with "Friction": verses in 7/8, bridges in 5/8 and an Acid Jazzy
chorus, totally crazy lyrics full of oxymorons where I quote several artists (The Beatles' "Hello Goodbye" and Sting's "Brand New Day", among others, but notice: in "old and wise like a newborn child" I even quote myself!) and where I proudly mock the awful windows xp (there are people out there who don't know what a Mac is! That's incredible!).
Add my typical ten - fingered - chords and you've got Lord B when writes music for himself and not for other people...
totally out of control.

You saidyou just hate the way you love me
you said
you've been living since you’re dead
Touch me so softly
with your blind and heavy eyes
with your straight and curly hair
we've been married
but we've never ever been a pair
I'm the one your pleased and riled
every time you cried and smiled
I was old and wise like a newborn child
Take me there
to an Eden where we're dressed
where the past will never last
and there's nothing better than to wait for the
past we'll never live
the breasts we'll always feed
the East of every sunset
and the smile of your worst enemy
See me,
I'm the beginning of your end,
I'm the knees you'll never bend
Wake me up
from a life that's dead inside
from my modest humble pride
there's nothing better than to sit and wait to be
raped with love and passion
get my daily ration
loathing with devotion
every single day I
tried to be your ego
as nice as impetigo,
'til I found it's just a question of...
Friction and contradiction
when your life and love are steady
like the Finder of XP
Friction and contradiction,
you're my sister, you're my brother
but you're just a little only child
You're my sun and I'm your cloud
you're so lonely, I'm the crowd
I'm alive and you're my shroud
I say stay and then you go
I say yes and you say no
I say bye, you say hello
But I can see no walrus here
You were born tomorrow
filled with love and sorrow
happiness to borrow
('til you found it's question of...)
Rudeness and politeness
be my blind witness
'til you find it's just a question of...
Friction and contradiction,
when your life and love are steady
like the Finder of XP
Friction and contradiction,
you're my sister, you're my brother
but you're just a little only child
Friction and contradiction,
when your life and love are steady
like the Finder of XP
Friction and contradiction,
you're my sister, you're my brother
but you're still a little only child
(You're my sun and I'm your cloud
you're so lonely, I'm the crowd
I'm alive and you're my shroud
I say stay and then you go
I say yes and you say no
I say bye, you say hello.....)

WILD! How original you have become! This song shows all the styles stuck in your head and well blended together. Very unique taste of Lord Bygon! Well done work. Remo Leomporra
It strikes me as funny that this song is categorized at ArtistLaunch as "pop", since this is truly not pop at all. Beps, you are writing vocal jazz - no shame in that, just get comfortable with the fact that you long ago crossed the line from pop to jazz. If you'd just accept that you are a jazz artist, then you wouldn't have to make any apologies for "ten-fingered chords", changing time signatures etc. Those 7ths and 9ths and suspensions in the vocal harmonies and chords are no problem for jazz people. Compare your stuff to Manhattan Transfer, Al Jarreau, Swing Out Sister or Basia, maybe even a little Level 42 - those are the kinds of acts that I think of when I hear songs from you like "Friction". Maybe pop-flavored, but you are still squarely on the jazz side of the fence. I enjoyed the tune, listened to it a couple of times, and definitely dug it - the 7/8 and 5/8 parts work fine. The chorus was a little too conventional or safe for me - with the edginess of the verses, I would have looked for you to keep at least some of that edge in the chorus - but that is just a subjective impression. I like it when you make music for yourself instead of for someone else. Your true compositional "voice" comes through much more clearly. Chris M
