Song Story:

This is a song it took me years to write, starting from a very old idea based on the two chords of the verse, and I recorded a huge number of provisional versions - the last one in January 1999 for the first issue of "Zenith". The lyrics are nonsense (inspired to XTC's "This is Pop") and the melody features my typical weird Jazz / Pop elements; this is a totally new recording made in the Spring of 2003 for the new edition of "Zenith" on the iTunes Store, with a powerful arrangement that makes of this song Zenith's "curio".

Lyrics

On my walkway I feel so free
there's no hurry, it's only me
Someone leans on the thing I say
but I won't thank her for going away

How do you feel tonight now that you're free?
Just don't forget a thing: life's not a sin

In my night time there are no jails
drinking summer, I eat my nails

How do you call that thing you feel inside?
I feel my platelets, where is my bride?

On my walkway I feel so free
silly donkeys surrounding me
it's the right time, I drink my beer
or should I say I'm dying here?

How do you call that mood you're always in?
I call it death, my friend, God bless my blood
Coagulation....

Reviews

..I think the whole composition works pretty well, Lord Bygon's vocals are quite good, because he's staying in his comfortable range and not trying to squeeze too many syllables into the melody. The song doesn't really have a hook, but I don't think it needs one, this isn't pop. ...Lord B's songwriting is excellent! Chris M.

...awesome as usual! Loved the harmonies - and to think he got the word "coagulation" in a jazzy song... Jimrie Thurmond
